Yet another well planned and well-executed journey with Phillip. The excursion to the lodge was an adventure all by itself! Once there, we were pampered day and night. The area was spacious, serene, and extremely isolated. Aside from the Sumatran Tiger (which we did see in the wild), there was an abundance of wildlife and birds to focus on. Having been to Indonesia multiple times, we found the temperature and humidity a bit cooler than usual. Perpetual food, friends, FUN, and frequent exploration, it was magical. Compared to many of his other treks that we have enjoyed, this one was relaxed and tranquil. Just sorry that it ended so soon, could've stayed for another week! Can't wait until the next trip.

I recently returned from the “Life on the Equator”, Komodo, Borneo and Java photo workshop with Phillip Bartlett. What a fantastic experience this was! I had previously traveled New Zealand with Phillip and was delighted at the opportunity to travel with him again. This was a trip of a lifetime for me. I was thrilled with adventure (especially the orangutans!), the accommodations, the food (the food!), the fellow travelers (all of whom had also travelled with Phillip before… I think that says something!), and of course Phillip and his carefully curated guides and support teams. I truly appreciated the ability to relax and simply enjoy the adventure in comfort and style, confident in Phillip’s ability to handle the multitude of logistical elements required to pull off a trip like this. I have done multiple New Zealand photo workshops with Phillip Bartlett (Capture New Zealand) and so when he invited me on an Indonesia photo trip I didn’t hesitate. What a great adventure with an amazing mix of wildlife, landscapes, and local culture. Never a dull moment! And I appreciated that Phillip spoke Indonesian which meant that we could explore places well off the tourist path. The whole experience was far above my expectations and I hope to return to Indonesia again soon on another workshop.
